Sometimes playing the “Drugstore Game” can mean more hassle & hysteria than it’s worth.

crowdshot-1

I know I’ve had my fair share of frustration: Cleared shelves on all the items that were good, spending more out of pocket than I thought because of my faulty game plan, or just not having the coupons needed for the really sweet deals. However, this week at Rite-Aid I am actually really excited to try a rather involved scenario off Time2$ave’s website! I even went in today to scope out the store, and ask questions of the cashier- and I’ll just say it….I’m nerdily pumped about tomorrow!

❤Moneymaking Scenario w/ FREE Diapers!❤

Transaction #1:

Crest Whitening Plus Scope Tooothpaste
Oral B Advantage Toothbrush
Softsoap Nutri-Serum
Gillette Fusion Razor
Nivea Lip Care
Huggies Wipes
(2) Suave
———————
Total (Before coupons & Tax) = $25.99
———————
Use $5/$25 Rite-Aid Coupon

Use applicable coupons (listed in Drugstore Drive-By)
Total OOP = $10.24 + Tax
SCR received = $14.38

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Transaction #2:
Luvs Diapers
(3) Profoot
88¢ candy bar or small clearance item(filler item)
————————–
Total(Before Coupons & Tax) = $25.87
————————–
Use $5/$25 Rite-Aid Printable
Use $1/1 Luvs + (3) Profoot Peelies or Printables equalling $6
Total OOP = $12.87
SCR Recieved = $12

*Now you have spent over $50.00 and are therefore eligible for the Fall Gift Of Savings $10 Rebate! This rebate is based on totals before coupons, and is in addition to any other rebates you recieve.

When the dust settles, it will look like this:
Spend: $23.11
Get Back: $34.38
Money earned just for shopping: $11.27

Take-Home Gifts, just for playing the Drugstore Game:

* Luvs Diapers
* Huggies Wipes
* Softsoap Bodywash
* Suave Shampoo & Conditioner
* Gillette Razor
* Crest Toothpaste
* Oral B Toothbrush
* Nivea Lipcare
* Profoot Insoles
* and…..a candy bar!

So, you know, like I said – it’s an involved scenario.  But all of these coupons are pretty easy to get hold of, and you should be able to find enough of all this stuff to do the scenario, so it’s worth a try I think!

- Thanks Time2$ave!!!

    So, how did this work out for you? My scenario didn’t work out as perfectly as listed above but I think that’s b/c we didn’t get a couple of the regional store coupons (the Softsoap and the Huggies wipes). I also couldn’t find any coupons for the Nivea. So instead I bought the Febreeze candle (used $2Q will get back $2SCR) and the B1G1 Tylenol at $4.99 and used (2)$2Q. Total OOP was $14.59 but will get back $12.38 SCR… not too bad.

    I hope to do the 2nd transaction tomorrow but will need to find some coupons for the profoot (I STILL can not get any smartsource coupons to work!!) before I do. Also, I noticed in the store that they were all in the $9 and up range rather than the $5 each as posted on Time2Save … any ideas??

    Hey Teri-
    I’m actually waiting until Tuesday to do this deal, because that’s when their truck usually comes in near me. It gives me more time to prep. I did a run throgh the store though, and many of the ProFoots around here had peelies on them (some were toward the back of the rack)- also, stuff like the heel cream and whatnot were cheaper than other things.
    I’m sorry about the regional coupon stuff- that’s always the unpredictable part. I guess the only thing you can do there is go when you think they’ll be out, ask for rainchecks, and get those coupons off ebay!
    Again- I know how it feels to be frustrated when you planned so hard- and I’m sorry it didn’t work as well as we hoped. I’ll let you know how mine goes tuesday!

    good idea to look towards the back of the rack, I’ll try that. I’m not too worried if the 2nd transaction doesn’t work out for me – I still got a fantastic deal on all the stuff I got today :) Good luck to you on Tuesday!
